Common Questions
What protective security training does Hermes offer?
Hermes offers a connected ladder of protective security training and assurance: Martyn's Law Awareness (staff-wide awareness), Threat Awareness (practical recognition and response), the Responsible Person Programme (duty-holder implementation), a Responsible Person Professional Review (independent expert review), and On-Site Assurance Support (in-person validation and exercising). Together they move an organisation from awareness through to independent professional assurance.
What is Martyn's Law awareness training?
Martyn's Law awareness training is a short, self-paced online course that gives every employee, volunteer and contractor a practical understanding of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 — why it exists, what it means for their organisation, and how to respond during a security incident. The Hermes course runs 20–30 minutes and issues a verifiable digital certificate on completion.
Who needs the Responsible Person Programme?
The Responsible Person Programme is for duty-holders — Responsible Persons, Designated Senior Individuals, and senior managers across estates, facilities, venues and operations — who must understand and implement their duties under the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025. It is a 4–6 hour role-specific pathway covering governance, threat and risk assessment, public protection procedures, documentation and improvement planning.
Do Hermes courses provide a certificate?
Yes. Every course issues an instant digital certificate on successful completion, with a unique reference number and digital verification, and stores the learning record in the Hermes platform — except where a professional review forms part of the service. Courses are built to a common standards framework designed to support future accreditation.
Is there volume or team pricing for staff training?
Yes. Online awareness courses are priced for volume rollout, with discounts from 25 licences (10–15%), 100 licences (20–30%), and enterprise pricing by proposal at 500+ licences. This lets organisations roll training out across an entire workforce cost-effectively.
Are the courses accredited?
The courses are built to a documented internal standards framework — clear learning outcomes, assessments mapped to those outcomes, version control, and named technical and educational oversight — designed so that recognised external assurance or accreditation can be pursued once demand is proven. Hermes competes now on the strength of its instructional and protective-security expertise.
